Eco Macademia Shells W/Decoupage Beads and Swarovski Crystal Dangle Earrings
These Eco-Friendly earrings are a real conversation piece, made from the shell of a macadamia nut. The shell is extremely hard so has to be drilled to make our jewelry and keeps them from the trash bin. Our dad planted the tree in the late 50s and it has grown to dwarf the house by several feet. If you are at all familiar with macadamia nuts, you know how labor intensive they are to crack (you need a vice) and why they are so expensive. The squirrels love them too and have no problem getting the nut out, leaving no trace it was ever there. So, whoever gets there first, us or the squirrels, gets the nuts but they do leave the shells for us to gather for our unique jewelry.
These particular earrings have decoupage beads dangling from the top of the shell in two layers with little gold beads separating the decoupage beads and Swarovski crystals hanging at the bottom. The decoupage beads are in shades of fall colors and the macadamia shell is sprayed with a Cherry Wood stain. There is a gold bead cap at the top dangling from a gold ear wire, they are just SO SASSY!
